After a sold out Lightning in a Bottle and two fantastic weekends entertaining the crowds at Coachella the Do LaB did it again in an intimate musical adventure that captured the senses. On the weekend of July 17 to 19 a reunion of thousands of guests whose souls found their way to Oak Canyon Park in Silverado California took place. These souls reunited in order to be part of an energizing, transforming and memorable, 3-day Woogie Weekend.
Lighting in a Bottle’s most iconic stage returned to its home offering two main stages with great music, live painters, vendors, games, a food court that offered great variety of options, morning yoga classes, and even a slip n’ slide, but most of all an opportunity to explore and reconnect with nature and other creatures that travel on the same journey. Speaking of Mother Nature, we all love our Cali weather, but something magically strange happened, what had been planned as a hot summer Woogie Weekend turned to be a wet one as raindrops joined the party. Many of us took this opportunity to dance barefoot on the piles of wet dirt transformed into mud, making this an even more organic and reconnecting experience.
The soundscape at Woogie Weekend ranged from deep and soulful, to progressive and playful, between The Hive where performers like Danny Daze, J. Philip Gigamesh, Jonas Rathsman, Nick Warren, Mikey Lion, Adam Freeland, and Tara Brook, just to name a few, made everyone dance while the love, harmony, friendship and amazing vibes were flowing everywhere as they were taking the decks. The Beat Nest, a scaled version of LIB’s Woogie Stage, was never empty, many gathered and danced as if there was no tomorrow while enjoying the FUN Mobile’s entertainment that would give away free bubbles to everyone at the party. Definitely the energy of everyone present made the sets of artists like Autograf, Marques Wyatt, Pumpkin, and Gorje & Izhevski organically special.
This is definitely an experience to remember and relive on a yearly basis. For more info, pics and experiences follow Woogie Weekend via www.woogiewknd.com and let’s Woogie next year.
