The Christmas spirit come from traditions that help us celebrate joy, love, and goodwill to mankind. It’s a time to gather with family and friends to share in a good laugh, listen to good music, and enjoy delicious food.  Recipes that travel across continents of specific foods and tastes that remind us of our culture and traditions away from home, but that make us feel connected.

Food Connection LA has a very specific mission, to offer Traditional Latin American Cuisine to food-loving souls together for a collaborative communal dining experience, an exploration of food and culture. During the holidays the celebration called for “Vive Oaxaca.” An exploration of food and culture featuring Sabores oaxaqueños Restaurant serving their most delicious Mole and Oaxacan dishes. Guest were treated to a delicious 5-course Traditional dinner, cocktails and beer, live music and great ambiance.

The prix-fixe menu included, Tostadita de guacamole con chapulin, Empanada de huitlacoche con quesillo, Memelitas con tasajo, Enchiladitas de mole rojo y coloradito and Mole negro con pechuga. Authentic Oaxacan drinks, such as Agua fresca de orchata, Agua de tamarindo, Cocktails by Mezcal El Silencio, Cerveza fria and nieve Oaxaqueña.

To extend on the celebrations the sold-out event also featured emerging talents Guillermo Otero and Victor Mendoza. Guillermo opened the night with an amazing performance of songs from his latest album “Yo soy yo” (I am me) a fusion of genres that revolve around pop, big band, funk, rock, reggae, and blues. Victor Mendoza closed the night with his upbeat tunes that had everyone dancing to late hours of the night.
