Maria Lopez
Upon completing her degree in International Business from CSUN, Maria began exploring the opportunity to share her passion for culinary arts, travel, design and music. At the age of 24 her brainchild, Candela Taco Bar & Lounge was born as a chic Mexican restaurant. She has managed to connect her Mexican roots, gastronomy and family business with an ever-changing diverse neighborhood by offering a unique and lively environment. Maria currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors at Amanecer Community Counseling Services who focuses on providing culturally competent, accessible, high-quality mental health care for the diverse and underserved adults, children and families of Los Angeles who suffer from mental illness or severe emotional problems. Maria has been able to use her background to produce large scale events and caterings. As a 1 st generation Mexican American and native Angeleno she can be considered a major player in the event production and catering realm with such clients as Disney, Cirque du Soliel and NBC. The most recent of her projects include the re-grand opening of a creative event space with a 1,000 guest capacity in the heart of Miracle Mile and a handmade awareness jewelry line launch in early 2017.
