El Velorio seeks to celebrate the cultural traditions of Day of the Dead, featuring an art exhibition, life music, an altar installation and much more. By showcasing emergent artist El Velorio celebrates the day of the dead in a transcendental way, allowing its visitors to contemplate different aesthetic developments within the city of Los Angeles. El Velorio began in 2010, with the sole purpose of creating a space for artists to exhibit their work; however it quickly became an event that has benefited various nonprofit organizations
