Luis Ernesto Franco y Camila Sodi Protagonizan “Falsa Identidad” por Telemundo

TELEMUNDO REVELA EL ELENCO ESTELAR DE “FALSA IDENTIDAD”, LA NUEVA SERIE QUE SE ESTRENA EN SEPTIEMBRE El elenco estelar incluye a: Sergio Goyri, Alejandro Camacho, Eduardo Yáñez, Sonya Smith, Uriel del Toro, Samadhi Zendejas, Geraldine Bazán, Álvaro Guerrero, Gabriela Roel, Azela Robinson, Pepe Gámez Manuel Balbi y Marcus Ornelas.

The Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) returned to New York City

The Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) returned to New York City

The Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) returned to New York City, assembling some of the world’s most talented emergent and well-established musicians of the genre in one place. Aside from the obvious benefit of having these talented artists performing in several showcases throughout the city for the public to enjoy, the LAMC also provides visiting artists from countries like Spain, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, and many others an excellent opportunity to meet each other, attend panels aimed at developing their careers within the music industry, and network with music business executives and brand representatives from companies like Shure Microphones, Taylor Guitars, and others that participate in the event. Orquesta El Macabeo and DJ George Nenadich kicked off this year’s conference with a New York style Salsa dance party at the renowned Lincoln Center Mid Summer Swing stage, and ended in grand fashion with Jorge Drexler, Trending Tropics, IFE, and DJ Raff performing at the LAMC Central Park SummerStage showcase. Two highly recommended shows for anybody visiting Manhattan during this time of year, free concerts with lineups of this caliber should not to be missed. “Women Changing The Face of the Latin Music Industry”, held at The Stewart Hotel in mid-town Manhattan, was one of the most anticipated panels of the conference. Erika Elliott (SummerStage), Colleen Theis (The Orchard), Yvonne Drazan (peermusic), Diana Rodriguez (Criteria Entertainment), Livys Cerna (The Latin Recording Academy / Latin GRAMMYs), Stephanie Streeter (Eventbrite), and Ana Poluyan (Manager of Los Pericos), several of the most influential female leaders in the business, led a lively discussion highlighting the importance and the current standing of women within the industry. An engaged audience contributed to a wide-ranging conversation and dynamic exchange of ideas about mentorship, forging a career path by thinking outside the box, being organized and setting goals, the importance of excellence and generating quality work, being active in professional industry organizations, asserting female influence and guidelines to reduce sexism within the industry, etc. It was an extremely productive and insightful session, and the panelists shared a wealth of knowledge and insight with the public in attendance. In terms of performances, one of the most popular showcases at this year’s LAMC was an intimate acoustic session featuring renowned artists like Ana Tijoux, Mitre, Cheo & Ulises Hadjis, and Mariachi Flor de Toloache. The event was held in lower Manhattan at The Loft at City Winery, a casual and cozy venue with comfortable seating and delicious food to boot. It was a great place to escape the summer heat and enjoy up close performances from such extraordinary musicians. The showcase exemplified the vast and beautiful musical variety that flourishes from our deeply grounded Latin American roots, and each of the artists demonstrated exceptional musical prowess as they arranged their songs in very unexpected ways without loosing the essence of the original compositions. For example, Ana Tijoux performed with the Villalobos Brothers, a trio of violinists that infused a delightful touch of Mexican traditional music to her songs. And Mariachi Flor de Toloache invited a rapper / poet to join them on stage for one of their songs. The results were quite impressive. Great LAMC musical performances continued at Celebrate Brooklyn in Prospect Park, this time featuring an all female powerhouse lineup that included Girl Ultra (Mexico), Ana Tijoux (Chile),...

Iconic Burning Man Art Car Mayan Warrior To Make West Coast Debut In Los Angeles

On August 4th, the globally-renowned Mayan Warrior will make its West Coast debut as the Mexico City-based Burning Man staple makes its final stop along its journey to the Playa. Taking place at Grand Park in the heart of LA beneath the iconic City Hall building, the full Mayan Warrior art car will bring a slice of Burning Man to downtown Los Angeles. As with their famed Playa parties, where tens of thousands gather around the sensory spectacle each year, the artistry of many are woven together under the care of founder and creator Pablo Gonzalez Vargas for an unrivaled light and sound experience. From the mind-melting Alex Grey painting to the Huichol artwork that adorns the central mandala and the tribal design of the vehicle itself, the ornate design provides a sacred backdrop for a cadre of the most dynamic DJs and producers on and off the playa. The music will feature members of the Mayan Warrior crew along with a few special surprise guests. Tickets can be purchased here! Artists outside of the music include Paolo Montiel, a prominent experimental lightning designer responsible for the light design of the Chichén Itzá pyramids and right hand of James Turrell in his Latin America projects. Mark Nath will also be lending his expertise as a laser designer with 20-years of experience doing lights for legendary artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, The Killers, Ice Cube, Swedish House Mafia, Lady Gaga, Tiesto and Eric Prydz. This is a rare chance to see what many describe as Black Rock City’s most iconic art car outside of its natural habitat with proceeds going towards Mayan Warrior’s appearance at Burning Man 2018 as well as to Create Now, a not-for-profit organization which helps the youth find their voices through arts, mentoring and education. Inspired by Mayan and Huichol lineages and enhanced by state-of-the-art sound and lighting design, Mayan Warrior is a product of Mexican creatives, sustained and brought to life by a diverse community of Burners, artists, creatives and music-lovers. The endeavors of creator Pablo Gonzalez Vargas expand far beyond the Burning Man community as he is also the founder of Sr. Pago, one of the leading e-payment platforms in Latin America. As if having his hands in both the art and tech worlds wasn’t enough, he is also the founder of EXA Radio & TV, which become one of the most influential media outlets and voices for the Latin American youth market. More recently Vargas created Ilumina, an interactive light and sound installation that first appeared at Burning Man in 2017 and is described as a “profound visual, aural, and mystical experience that highlights the interconnectivity of our planet and enhances the global energy field.” Vargas is a brilliant mind who is motivated by grandiose visions and an even more grandiose drive to materialize them. Alongside Vargas is a massive collective of artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects, engineers and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California who all play crucial roles in the Mayan Warrior’s spectacular existence. Together they share a common goal of creating an immersive experience through art and music that encapsulates the sacred and ancient sources of geometry. The Mayan Warrior has become an ongoing project of contemporary electronic expression; Powered by 70,000 watts of electricity that delivers explosive production including a cutting edge RGB laser light show, psychedelic neon panels, and a sophisticated new sound system comprised of 24 d&b subs and two...
